Ilhabela is a mountainous island with vast areas of dense Atlantic Rainforest, and has been declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO, so is the perfect habitat for 300 species of bird. Second only to the Amazon, it is one of the world's most diverse ecosystems, although its trees are lower in height and more open. Notable landmarks are the historic church of Ilhabela and the Engenho D'Agua plantation.

Discover the wonders of Ilhabela – a beautiful city combining beaches, rainforests, and a diverse culture. Set off to the Barreiros Viewpoint to admire the sweeping vistas of the São Sebastião Channel and visit the 17th–century Church of Nossa Senhora D'Ajuda. Continue to the Engenho D'Água Farm, once an important site for sugar production, before proceeding to the Água Branca Waterfall. Known for its historic importance to the island, this waterfall previously powered the old turbines of a hydroelectric powerplant that generated energy for Ilha de São Sebastião. Have the chance to visit more majestic waterfalls, including the Toca Waterfall, and explore an old sugar and banana farm. Enjoy a tour of the farm and get to sample cachaça, a distilled spirit made from fermented sugarcane juice.
